This night wraps it’s long, jagged arms around me. Pulling me deeper within it’s heart. The cold wind scalds my bones. I remember warmth, I remember when my blood flowed and my eyes flowered. I remember when it didn’t rain so often and there wasn’t so much silence. Midnight comes again like an unwelcome guest who stays too long. Singing it’s song. Singing the lullaby that makes me remember what life was like without it. I feel this journey will end soon.
